Terracotta is my brand for the ceramics I handcraft. This involves designing and crafting products, developing branding, curating social content, package design, and designing pop-up stores.

Grog

Grog is a raw material used in ceramics to improve the properties of clay.
Much in the way that grog helps keep the shape of clay, our artist statement gives shape to Terrapotta.

Artist Statement

Nature serves as the foundation of my creative journey. My inspiration blooms from the creatures and flora encountered during my explorations along hiking trails and beneath cascading waterfalls. Working primarily with terracotta clay, I handbuild whimsical creatures, fairy abodes, and functional wares, drawn to its deep, earthy hues.

Each piece of clay tells a story as it takes shape—a narrative uniquely its own, never to be replicated. This storytelling aspect infuses my creations with charm and meaning.

Based in Harper Woods, I split my creative process between my home studio and The Ceramic School in Hamtramck. This dual environment enriches each creation, blending the tranquility of my studio with the vibrant community at the school. Regardless of where I work, a sprawling garden is always close by, providing constant inspiration and grounding my artistic expression.

Slip

Slip is liquid clay used as an adhesive to join pieces together.
Our social media binds together our community.
